World History

Trying to sum up the history of the World in a concise book, find the events that define our collective history, or choose the figures who did the most to shape it is no easy task.  No one book is going to contain everything that comes to mind for every individual when they think about World History, and as for placing events and people on a scale and choosing whose contributions were greatest, which events were most Earth changing?  It is a task I’m grateful I’ve never taken on.

Today we are featuring a selection of books that have made an attempt and telling the story of World History, of picking the events and figures who have helped shape the world in which we now live.
