Solomon Kane is one of the many stories we have selected that many people first discovered through a movie, and in some cases were surprised to find originated as stories and books.   First published in the 1920s, Solomon Kane is described in several places as:

A late 16th–early 17th century Puritan, Solomon Kane is a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms.
