Columbus Day Weekend we had a theme of exploration and adventure in our picks and recommendations. As the middle of the week is upon us, perhaps a bit more adventure is called for, and with that in mind we offer a collection of Robert Louis Stevenson‘s Adventure Tales. The author of Treasure Island put pen to paper for a variety of other stories as well, including Kidnapped, Catriona, and the oft mentioned Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Some days a tale of adventure is just the escapist reading that calls out to a reader… and Treasure Island is a classic in the eyes of multiple generations. Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was a Scottish born Author who did not just write about grand adventures and far off travels, but took to the seas himself, traveling to, living in, and ultimately dying in Samoa.
